This month marks the 1-year anniversary of successfully funding our Backmate Kickstarter campaign. And no one is more important to thank for reaching that goal than YOU! I've said it before and I'll keep saying it - thank you for all your support! Your reviews, comments, encouragement and purchases have propelled us to continue building great products that help people.
A LOT has happened since we wrapped up our Kickstarter campaign 1 year ago - for Backmate and in much larger part, for the whole word. At Backmate, we are proud of having delivered thousands of Backmates to happy customers around the globe, now selling online, on Amazon and in retailers and professional facilities across the US. We are also working on some exciting new products that move the needle for pain relief. For the world, much is uncertain about how things will look after the dust settles, but one thing is clear, the world is going to be a different (and hopefully much better) place in a lot of ways.
These are difficult times for many of us and we would like to help in whatever way possible. While I recognize it doesn't fix everything, a little extra cash can always help. Hi there,
Finally some good news! We have delivered Backmates to about 75% of our backers and the response has been awesome. Comments such as, "exceeded expectations", "best manual massager", and "built like a tank" are exactly what the Backmate was targeted to be.
For those still waiting on their Backmate, here is a current update on fulfillment:
- For backers in the US, most of you have received your Backmates! If you are in the US and haven't received your Backmate or a tracking number, please double check your spam folder for an email from us about filling out a survey with your shipping address. If you can't find it, please email us at [email protected]
- For backers in Canada, we just got word last night that the shipments were released from customs! We will be sending out tracking numbers in the next few days.
- For backers in the EU, the orders arrived in England last week and are still going through customs. Hopefully, they will get released soon and we can then get your tracking number to you and Backmates delivered shortly after that.
- For all other international countries, most of you have already received your Backmates. If not, please double check your spam folder for an email from us about filling out a survey with your shipping address. If you can't find it, please email us at [email protected]

Hi,
There is an increasing chance you may see me delivering your Backmate via bicycle (NYC courier style), because disappointingly, it seems that might be a better option than what our fulfillment partner is doing so far. We chose Floship to fulfill this project. They are a well known crowdfunding fulfillment provider and it seemed the most environmentally responsible way to ship product around the world, eliminating the possibility of multiple transits. It was certainly not the cheapest option, but it seemed it would be the best for our backers. Unfortunately, it hasn't worked out like we hoped - the US shipments have not been delivered to UPS yet and the Canada and EU shipments are still in ocean transit. I'm in disbelief at the low quality of service provided by Floship and how this issue is affecting the people we value most.
Having both suffered from severe spine injuries, the Backmate project is a personal one for Dustin and I. I've been losing sleep with each night delivery is further delayed. I want to reassure you that we are working hard and won't rest until your Backmate is delivered to you. We will update you as soon as we have more information.
I can't thank you enough for having our backs and promise we have yours.

Hello and Happy New Year!
I hope you had a great holiday season and have set some health goals for 2020! My goal is to spend more time on my "work-in" recovery recovery routine to offset long days in the office and my habitual "work-out" routine.
I wish our fulfillment for The Backmate has been faster, but we are finally getting there! Looking back, there are a few things we could have done differently that would have sped up delivery, but we didn't have the 2020 vision then that we do now! All joking aside, I sincerely apologize for the delays and appreciate your patience and support.
Here is the latest information we have:
- For backers in the US and Canada, you should be getting your tracking numbers next week with Backmates delivered in 1-2 weeks. The orders arrived in port last weekend and are currently going through customs and processing.
- For backers in Europe, your Backmate is scheduled to arrive in England on February 2nd (Cosco container number CSNU7514980). If all goes well in customs and processing, you should receive your tracking number by February 7th and then your Backmate in 1-2 weeks after that.
- For backers in Asia, Africa and Australia, you should have already received your tracking number and most of you have received your Backmates. There are a few orders still in transit or stuck in customs. If you haven't received your tracking number, please check your spam folder and contact us at [email protected] if you can't find it.
Please make sure you receive your tracking number by white listing our domain, mybackmate.com, in your email program. Here is an article on how to white list a domain in Gmail, Outlook and Yahoo mail.
In closing, I have some great news: we created a special video series with physical therapy pro, Eric Ordorica, DPT, OCS at EO Sports, showing you how to set up and use The Backmate to treat specific injuries and areas of pain. We just uploaded the whole series to our YouTube channel here. Please check it out, subscribe to the channel and let us know if there are any other instructional videos you would like to see. Your feedback is instrumental in helping us serve you best and collectively helping society empty its medicine cabinets for good.
